Nada Serafimović, a creative illustrator from Belgrade, started a new project and hired me for photography. Her idea was to create a series of diverse items as a collection of souvenirs from Belgrade. It is available for sale in one of the stores in Belgrade and online.
She has been working for years as an illustrator with extensive experience in children’s books, picture books and magazines. She came up with the idea to draw and design objects that tell stories about Belgrade. She paid special attention to the fact that the objects that come out of her small creative workshop have high standards in terms of quality, but also a personal stamp. I especially liked the board game Don’t get angry, man. Pawns are made of wood and shaped like various birds, and their houses represent parts of Belgrade: Ada, Avala, Kalemegdan and Ušće.
Plush toys from her collection are hand-sewn, and fridge magnets are made of wood. Illustrations of Belgrade’s landmarks are engraved in them, resulting in a relief structure of the surface. Her drawings printed on ceramic cups are inspired by Belgrade and travels. In the Memory Game and on paper stickers there are a variety of illustrations that are characteristic of her distinctive drawing style, so that one simply attaches to its auhentic aesthetics.
You can follow her work on Instagram and the Etsy website where she sells her souvenirs. I’ve also made a website for her theBgBird.com and you can buy her products online. Take a look at some of the photos I’ve done for her, but this small gallery doesn’t include her entire offer. There are many more interesting things, and you can find more details about them on the links above.
